While I personally only have ten friends or so, I just wanted to inform you that Steam will automatically remove shortened links like goo.gl.
-
Steam actually removes a number of links from chat. Its irritating when you're just trying to show things to people, but I'm sure its like how they disabled /me: Because some people are just too stupid and scammed to let us have nice things in steamchat.

It is indeed annoying, but for shortened links I can understand it. There's no way to verify where it goes prior to clicking in Steam.

Thanks for the note! I fixed that, and have released two more updates on this irritating subject: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/arcengames/ai-war-ii/posts/1719581
I hate this part of my job, I swear. :(
But on the plus side, as noted on the link above, even if you just have 10 steam friends that can still be a huge force -- if they have friends that are not in your list, and so on.

Oh, I'm "pestering" them. Don't worry ;)

I have all of two people on my Steam friends list... and they both know about the KS. One is beating the bushes pretty hard though ;)

Yeah, I can understand for shortened links. Not for the other things.

I've seen some comments on reddit that people have had "http://store.steampowered.com/" turn into {Link Removed}
Like, holy hell.

Like, holy hell.
That is baffling.
