It has a variety of things that are inwork in it, some of which might be considered temporary steps backwards (the buttons are a bit smallish and awkward now), but that's the nature of progress. Fits and spurts.
Overall it's a lot of strides forward and getting our systems set up so that we can get actual art in there for the buttons, and get actual proper organization in there for the ship icons.
There are some performance issues with the ship icons thing at the moment, which Keith fixed in 0.118, but that's not out partly because I think it might cause some other issues. We may use a hybrid of some of my other sprite drawing stuff to help with the performance of certain bits of the unity gui, I don't know. That's something we're still investigating.
If the new release causes any intractable problems over the weekend, there is an alpha0116 beta branch on steam that you can revert to if you wish. Cinth is also working on lots of new ship graphics integrations to be ready for Keith to wire up whenever he has a spare bit of time, and I'm excited about that. Blue's been really busy over the last month, and a lot of that stuff hasn't been reflected in the game yet.
