Ah, well yes a sortable table would be even better.

Good call on consolidating the Astrotrains into one page.

Unless Zharmad comes back we should all discuss some time how to integrate the new fleet ships into the excellent table.

Keith: I've been getting "500 Internal Server Error" errors both in editing the Wiki and posting here on the forums. Can you check the computer those run on? I don't think I'm pounding it that hard.....
It's running on a rackspace-cloud machine(s) and appears to be running fine now.  Their cloud is generally very reliable but sometimes something will go sideways and let the smoke out for a bit.  I doubt it had any relation to your work or Arcen at all.

On the immunities thing, sure I can add some kind of delimiter between the items or a leading character to each individual immunity if desired.  I'm really slammed schedule-wise so the next AIW release won't be until after Valley2's official release (most likely) but if you can give me or point me at a wishlist of stuff that would make your wiki-work easier, that would be good to have in hand when the time comes.  I very much appreciate the effort to create and maintain this documentation :)

I found a way around the delimiter issue with how it currently is so no change needed here.

On the ship tables, it is easy enough to add them in.

For reference, I'm assuming the Ancient Shadows info page at http://arcengames.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=AI_War_-_Ancient_Shadows is a complete list of the ships and features added in the expansion and I'm using it for reference.

D.

edit: I have not used a lot of the new ships yet, so my best guess on where I think the new ships should go on the ships page (a ship can have multiple entries based on the page description):
Tackle Drone Launcher: FleetCombat/AOE LongRange/SuperSniper SupportShip/Disabler/Tractor
Saboteur: FleetCombat/AOE
Zenith Medic Frigate: SupportShip/FleetSupport/Repair(new)
Zenith Siege Engine: AssaultCraft/Alternative
Zenith Reprocessor: SupportShip/ResourceGenerator(new)
Neinzul Scapegoat: SupportShip/FleetSupport/DamageRedirection
Youngling Firefly: FleetCombat/AOE
Spire Railcluster: FleetCombat/DamageSoaker
Spire Corvette: Starships List (Already added, description needs updating?)

Double post, but it's been several hours.

Neinzul Scapegoat. What exactly is a 'military fleet ship'?

A Spire Corvette is a technically your bonus fleet ship.....

What about Tackle Drones? (Not the Tackle Drone Launcher).

And where's the Neinzul Scapggoat picture? Can't find it.

I just tested and... HOLY GUACAMOLE - Scapegoats can resurrect Spire Corvettes!  I'd assumed the Spire Corvette was a "bonus ship" but not a "bonus fleet ship", so this surpises me.  Oddly, it seemed that two Scapegoats had to die to resurrect the Corvette.  I wasn't using a shield so it's not like one was to res the shield module.  Surely we've just found the most powerful ship combo in the game  8)

Keith, was it actually intended that individual Scapegoats are weaker at higher marks?  My impression from the patch notes was that the individual ships would be identical at different marks, so that when the higher number of ships at higher caps is taken into account, Scapegoats' cap DPS at the different marks would follow the same pattern as other ships'.  (I'd wondered if the pattern Dazio described was just an anomaly of the exported data, but I confirmed that's how it works in-game, at least for marks I and II.)

Dazio - Mark V Scapegoats' build time looks wrong.  Did you calculate it based on total resources rather than individual ships' build time to avoid rounding errors?

Ugh.

Those scapegoats are just weird, they break the mold, and my code, all over the place.

Think I've got it now (I hope).

Yes, Mk III Cap energy is higher for some reason.

D.

edit: grrrr. I can't find the Saboteur picture either. Help?

295 rows of the 1700 in the data file done. Getting there?

Unless Zharmad comes back we should all discuss some time how to integrate the new fleet ships into the excellent table.

Just popping in to say hi - I'm working in Germany with research atm, and learning German/C/parallel computing is flooring me. There is also Path of Exile.. . The table you linked is manually constructed, so the only thing you have to worry about is the main use(s) for the ships in question.

Aside from that, there is also a draft table for a sortable immunities: this summary. This one is sortable, as 'wikitable sortable' has already been implemented.  I thought about implementing the tick-cross representation on the first time I did that - this has been fixed from its previous Y and N.

So Diazo, if you looked at the edit code, you should be able to pre-generate all relevant entries with minor adaptation of existing code. I *think* I have the specials split from the immunities because they were on different lines on the ships page.
 = = =
EDIT: I wonder if there is a way to script the uploading process itself? I guess that wikis aren't designed to allow automated SSH->page change, since that's very easy for spamming purposes. -_-

There are bulk upload/download options of some sort, but those are disabled on the standard user account by default so I've never looked at them.

I've just been copy/pasting into the page editor the code my access app spews out.

I'll take a look at that immunities thing sometime soon, I really should get all the unit pages done first.

The actual cap-health and cap-dps progression should be the same for scapegoats as other ships.  Is it showing lower individual-health and individual-dps numbers for the higher marks?

Could you check in-game to see if it's actually doing that to their stats?  (F1 should show the relevant info)

I'm wondering if maybe the reference export munged the numbers.

Because the Scapegoats are outliers and broke the automated code, I did all the cap costs manually so what is on the wiki page is what is in the data files (barring any typos my fat fingers made.)

I assumed the lower cost per ship at higher marks was correct as the mark increase makes the sacrifice effect more efficient. Otherwise, just flash build Mk Is at a space dock and never bother to unlock higher Marks.

D.

To-do list (so I quit forgetting things):
  • Scapegoat picture not found
  • Saboteur picture not found
  • Fortress King and Heroic AI types, either of them have wave or reinforcement size multipliers?
  • Game Setup: Random All Non-Techlonogist. Will this pick from all the AI types that don't have Technologist in their name, or will not pick from the AI types with the Red color in their name? IE: Could the Heroic AI type be randomly picked if you choose Random All Non-Technologist?
  • Astro-Trains page
  • Add new units to Ships and Structures
  • Redo Ships and Structures page to match RefShipsNav template
  • Sortable Immunities and Abilities tables
