New AI War Expansion?
« on: February 08, 2016, 07:05:03 pm »
Will there ever be a new expansion to AI War?
I own all 6 expansions that exist so far, and I would be the first one to buy any new DLC.

I'm curious too. I would buy any expansion without looking at it.

I'm with this all the way.  Granted, I buy anything from Arcen without qualm, but another AI War expansion would probably be the highlight of the year for me.

I think at this point, the plan is to transition AI War and all 6 expansions into a sequel, with added features and content, plus mod support (yayy), on an upgraded version of the Unity Engine.

See this thread for more details.

There's no TBA for that at this point, and it's not for certain, but I would assume that if it was the project after Stars Beyond Reach (which it may or may not be), it would come out near the end of this year or early next year. That's just my personal estimate, I in no way represent Arcen.

I didn't read the whole thread in detail, but I'd taken what Chris said as more of an idea than a definite plan.  On the other hand, Arcen needs cash, and an AI War expansion seems likely to be the most reliable means of getting said cash.
