Capital Ship Shield Module - BUG ???

hi there

i want to know why the Shield Module of the capital ships from fallen spire campaign arent online the wohle time ???
the ships seemd to shut down them if they arent under shooting from enemys ... but they are to slow to activate the shields if they need them ...
I created a formation for all my spire craft chips including the spire frigates ... all are so placed that every one are in the shields ... but if the enemys come the capital ships are to slow to protect and activate the shields ... so the frigates die / get damage - but thes should be in shield :-)

so how does this works ? or can the reaction time increase so that they activate faster if any enemy are at planet ???
i think this should be fixable :-)

The only things I can think of is that someone put them in low-power-mode or they were EMP'd.  I can't tell without a save.

All spire craft ships from fallen spire are imune to EMP's :-)

and no they are not in low power mode ... if i place them on my own planet they deactivate ther shields ... and when enemys come or shoot them they activate them ... but to slow to get full support

Yea, I have absolutely no idea why they'd do that unless the modules just weren't there (and the modules may or may not be immune to emp, I forget).  I'd need a save where this happens to diagnose :)

kk shields maybe not imune :-) but there is nothing no enemy no emps :-)

here i upload my savegame ... have a look at this you will see ... at my screen there no shields are displayed ...

go to KOJO my last owned planet there are all my spire ships ... its group "5" to get faster ...

They are cloaked.
They have shields up, but simply do not show it cause they are cloaked.
Note that keeping other ship near the bubbles of other ships is no sure thing an other ship wont get damaged, somehow they often are able to get hit (possibly to do with the size of spire ships, cant tell).

FF coverage should be pretty efficient at protecting stuff under them, but if the group is under really heavy fire there are sometimes intermittent gaps while ships switch over from being protected by one (shrinking) ff to another, etc.

They are when talking about for instance a frigate(or some) in between 2 DNs. But put one on the side of a single BB and they will likelly suffer some damage, eventhough they visually are under the FF.

Do they have the little "covered by ff" bubble around them while they're taking this damage?  Is the enemy using anything immune to ffs?

Good question, dont dare to say. The second part isnt/wasnt the case.

kk ... here it is ...
i discovered what happend ... but cant understand why ...

in my spirecraft fleet i had cloaker starships for nice raiding :-) :-D

this cloakstarships prevent the capital ships from having ther shields whole time online ... if you have some cloakerstarchips in ther range they deactivate ther shields and only activate if only they get damage on itself ...

i send the cloakerstarships away and now ALL capital ships have their shields online the wohle time ...


but why they deactivate while cloaked ????

BUG ???

Yea, I think I'm just going to make all the capital ships immune to cloaking.  Except the frigates, maybe.  Anything bigger than that is a bit hard to hide ;)

Clears that up, I was actually under the impression they were only hiding the shields ..  :)
