Waves After Whacking Warpgate
« on: December 13, 2010, 02:54:00 am »
I jumped past an AI controlled planet, taking out the warp gate on the way, and took the next, and final, system of this line.  That system has an advanced research facility.  So there is an isolated AI system between these two worlds,

-- X -- AI -- X.  This AI world is repeatedly launching, as near as I can tell, normal waves against the advanced research facility planet, despite the destruction of the warp gate and the presence of no other AI worlds.  Its annoying enough that I would consider taking the planet, simply to eliminate the need to fortify the warp point as heavily as I am.

The planet itself isn't even fancy in any way.  Low materials, mk 2, AI Eye, but no other special guard posts..

I believe that AI eyes act as warp gates. Chances are that there'll be something on the planet that does anyway.

EDIT: Yep, it's the AI eye. It's only listed ability when you look at it is Warp Gate [Full - AI ONLY] and that means you have to take it out as well as the warp gate to stop waves being sent. There might be other structures doing the same thing, so mouse-over each of them to check.
