Yeah, that's basically what I'm driving at. Valley 2 is a very focused game, without the sandbox qualities of the original game. Qualities that the original has in common somewhat with games like Terraria and Minecraft.

I think this is an important distinction to make with Valley 2, especially considering it's a sequel (some would say complete reboot/reimagining/whatever) to AVWW.

Oh, a few rough chat style comments from a friend.

don't like this bit: "It brings together an old-school platformer/shooter and a robust turn-based strategy game." makes it sound as if they're referring to
a particular platform/shooter and a particular strategy game

maybe something like  "across multiple genres, seamlessly bringing together the best qualities of old-school platform-shooters and turn-based strategy games."

Oh, and they need to swap these around or something "Vastly Improved Visuals:
Fully redone artwork by Heavy Cat Studios, including 125 all-new monsters, 200 spells, and lots more.
    More Tactile Combat:
The physics of movement and attacks have also been completely redone from the first title,"
so the 1st one mentions it's an improvement on the 1st game
right now it says the visuals are an improvement, but it doesn't say over what

Just swap the visuals and combat statements so the combat one comes first, that way you've primed the reader to understand you're referring to the 1st game, not even any need to write anything new

Okay, I dropped the ball on this thread for several days -- just too many things going at once -- but now we're getting down to final days.  I've now integrated the most recent thoughts from Panopticon and Pepisolo, both of which were excellent, by the way.  Anyone have anything else?

I think it might be nice to include something about the combat being more "traditional" than the first game so the players have a better idea of what to expect in this game as opposed to the first game.

That part of the game differs so much from AVWW 1 that it might be more clear to describe it as a different experience rather than a straight improvement for the sake of clarity.

Good point.  I've adjusted the wording there a bit, and I think that flows better anyhow.  Look better now?

Just have everyone from the forum write a steam recommendation with the word "Metroidvania" in it. Legal loop holes FTW!

I'm not sure if "Metroidvania" would be accurate.

On the other hand, saying that I'm not sure what to call it. "Whatever the heck ActRaiser 1 is" doesn't flow very well.  :P

Based on something that a member of the press said to me about how we tend to have "rabbit holes" in our games, I've added the following key feature to the list:

See Just How Deep An Arcen-style Rabbit-Hole Goes:
After dozens of hours you still haven't seen it all: 50 mage classes in 5 tiers, 200 spells, 125 enemies, 14 biomes, 100+ types of world map tiles, 64 character customization perks, 100ks of procedural equipment possibilities.

Any thoughts?

Talking of the rabbit hole. You might want to mention the concentration system that rewards expert play stringing together flawless kills.

Nice.  How about:

Extra Challenges For Expert Players:
String together flawless kills to earn "concentration" and become even stronger.  Beat the game on harder difficulties to earn rare achievements.
