Title: Icing on the Concentration Cake
Post by: Pepisolo on January 31, 2013, 09:48:36 AM
You know what would be amazing? If the visual size of your bullets scaled up along with your caliber whenever you go up a concentration level. In terms of game mechanics this makes sense as caliber is supposed to be related to the the size of the projectile. This would also act as a visual aid to see what power level you're at without having to refer to the HUD. The main benefit though, of course, is that it would be simply awesome! If you were to choose those muse perks so you could get up to 6 levels of concentration this would get ridiculous -- in a good way.

Back down to earth, now. I'm not sure if this is feasible or not. It depends on the current way the spells are coded. There doesn't happen to be a global variable called projectile bigness does there?

Nope, not feasible.  Most of the spells are particle effects, not a single graphic, and you can't just arbitrarily scale particle effect groups and have them look the same.  It's all very fine-tuned and handcrafted to get the effect you see, and messing around with that tends to have deleterious effects.

Oh, well. Thought it was a bit of a long-shot.
