I'm not entirely clear on this, but is this actually supposed to happen?
My understanding was that in order for him and his monsters to stomp things, they had to be at least purified, right?
But in my current game and in my previous, he constantly just wrecks things that I havent purified. Mostly he does this on the flashing tiles, but I've seen him do it on the darker tiles that you cant even move across with the player. Kinda breaks the strategy down a bit....

Yep that's working as intended -- the prior way was confusing people.

Hmm, it does make sense in a logical way, but wouldnt it also mean that he could crush things that are utterly out of reach for the player? It'd be pretty frustrating to have him (or his monsters) stomp the crap out of, say, an amp or ivory tower that you were heading towards, with little you could do about it since you couldnt reach it yet.
Not to mention things like factories; I'm already almost in an unwinnable situation just due to him having deleted nearly all of them that were visible.

It has to be purified before he can stomp it.
In terms of the larger things like factories, expanding in multiple directions is important so that you can keep him at bay and then thwart the monsters that come for you.

Yea, it's set up to never target non-purified tiles; if you see him smash something that's in a non-purified tile please mantis with save (preferably before the smash, but after is ok too).

Oh, ok, so it DOES have to be purified before he'll bother stepping on it.
Yeah, he has indeed been stomping things occaisionally (not super often) that are outside of the purified tiles. I backed up my save like a zillion times during my last session for.... some reason I forget, so I'm pretty sure I have both a before-stomp and an after-stomp save. I'll figure out which ones they are and put them on Mantis later in the day here.
