I'm hoping the silence from Chris, Kieth and the rest of the guys means that they've got something cool to show us soon.

All this waiting is making me itch. I need my fix maaaan! :P

We were given a 'it'll be a couple weeks' and then they vanished. They must be buckled down on getting this done as soon as possible.

I hope my tirade of the thoughts of diagonals didn't force them prematurely to think "welp, time to hide, the flames are rising."

On the other hand, if it prevents me from fighting the controls on that issue, then for me it is worth it. It was the first thing I saw on this thread that didn't make me go "YAY!" but instead "NOOOO!"
Life is short. Have fun.

We're here. :) As has been suggested, we're all just working really hard on the game. Chris and Keith have been coding like fiends on it, I've been making slices. Next week I think is when I'll start integrating some of the new art, so, it's coming along.

I don't think we'll have much new to show folks until we get a lot closer to beta, things are in a real state of flux right now, but fear not, all is well in the Arcen virtual office! :)

I don't think they have the right level of virtual office to have the PETS option  :)

It was cool to have a gosh darn bat on your side...

Skull O' Doom had its charm too though.

Do I remember Symphony of the Night? I still play it sometimes! That game is fantastic and... I should really not have that game as memorized as I do. :P
...unfortunately I never really like metroidvania pets all that much. Maybe it's because their AI isn't exactly the best. I always kill enemies moments before my pet does any damage.

What about more interesting terrain? If a lot more of the game is going to be indoors then... There could be simple things like surfaces you can shoot through but not move through, jump pads, etc. Maybe floors that have certain effects while standing on them. I dunno. Actually, you could even randomize them in slices... But if a certain slice needed a certain type of tile, there'd have to be some sort of list for each randomized tile as to what it could be. Like a spot that was built around having a jump pad. Or maybe an area where you'd want anything but a jump pad.

The other thing that made me go all silent was that, as often happens, the SMF forums stopped emailing me about new replies in this thread.  Sigh.

But -- in a lot of respects it's for the best, because if we're to have this out in early November it's really nose-to-the-grindstone until then.  This week my big thing is trying to get all of the player spells fully implemented.  That is a looooong job, because there are a lot of them.  Possibly 200, we'll see.

200.

Okay. I'm going to have to take a few days to absorb this level of content before I can fully understand it.
